The Luxe Developers
A HIGH-END WORKSPACE
In the dynamic world of interior design, the confluence of creativity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal plays a pivotal role in shaping spaces that resonate with both purpose and elegance.
Referred by a distinguished former client, Spencer embarked on the task of redefining Luxe Developers' office environment with swiftness and precision. Central to the challenge was the need to align the office space's aesthetics with Luxe Developers' proposed apartment project in RAK, an architectural ode to the fluid and contemporary designs of Zaha Hadid. The aim was to create a seamless transition between Luxe Developers' signature style and the spatial arrangement of their office environment.
SPACE PLANNING AND CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
The design journey began with mood boards that encapsulated various spatial concepts, forming the basis for exploring multiple space planning options. This collaborative effort, shaped by active engagement with the client's core team of CEOs and directors, culminated in a final layout that seamlessly integrated their aspirations with the designer's expertise.
Opting for a fresh start, the client dismantled all existing partitions, finishes, and even entrance doors of the previously occupied office space, returning it to its core and shell state. This strategic reset enabled a comprehensive redesign that redefined the workspace. Situated on a high floor of the Ubora Towers, the space offers panoramic views of Dubai's downtown skyline, the Burj Khalifa, the creek, and the Maidan landscape. These vistas influenced furniture arrangements, with prime spots reserved for client-facing areas to elicit the coveted "WOW" factor.
The project stands out for its bespoke nature, with numerous custom-made elements reflecting the client's commitment to originality. Lighting elements, carpet patterns, and furniture embraced fluid forms, echoing Dubai's dynamic urban landscape. The convergence of artistic vision and functionality resulted in a harmonious design that balances aesthetic appeal with practicality.
DESIGN APPROACH
One-third of the floor space is allocated to the client-facing sales office, designed to leave a lasting impression on visitors and clients. The modern and professional ambiance fosters trust and innovation, with a layout that maximizes natural light and open spaces to enhance interactions. The remaining two-thirds are dedicated to support staff, including closed offices for senior management, ensuring functionality, privacy, and efficient workflow. Common areas, such as breakout zones and collaboration spaces, promote community and idea exchange. A standout feature is the light loop corridor, which connects the sales office to meeting rooms with strategic lighting and seamless transitions, blending spatial aesthetics with efficiency.
Branding plays a pivotal role throughout the design. Copper accents and the company’s signature green color create a cohesive identity, from custom copper electroplated main door handles bearing the company name to elegant acrylic door handles. The boardroom adopts a futuristic, modern style reflecting the company's forward-thinking ethos, while the adjacent meeting room embraces a “Majlis” theme inspired by local culture, featuring soft furnishings and wall claddings for informal client discussions. CEOs' closed offices are customized to their preferences, while the other closed offices maintain a cohesive aesthetic that balances individuality and unity across the space.
SPACIAL CHALLENGES AND STRATETIC SOLUTIONS
Luxe Developers envisioned an office defined by fluid furniture design and luxurious white marble finishes. To balance cost and feasibility, the team used advanced vinyl wrapping techniques to replicate the marble aesthetic, achieving the desired elegance while saving costs. This approach seamlessly aligned with the design's fluid theme, marrying economy and sophistication.
Site conditions, including pre-existing structural constraints, influenced ceiling heights. To maintain an open feel, the design minimized ceiling coves, enhancing spatial amplitude while accommodating HVAC systems. By maximizing space above the false ceiling, the team ensured seamless integration of air conditioning without compromising the design's integrity or comfort.
BRIDGING FORM AND FUNCTIONALITY
In the final unveiling, Luxe Developers' office became a testament to the power of design. Fluid forms, the elegance of marble, and innovative solutions coalesced into a workspace that radiated modern elegance and functionality. The combination of bespoke craftsmanship, strategic spatial solutions, and a commitment to Luxe Developers' vision resulted in an environment that embodied the company's ethos of luxury, innovation, and excellence.
