Grant Thornton Sharjah
THE NEXT GENERATION WORKPLACE
A great office isn’t just where work happens—it’s where ideas thrive, teams connect, and productivity soars. At Grant Thornton’s CITY Gate Tower office in Sharjah, the vision was clear: to create a space as dynamic and forward-thinking as the company itself.
With nearly five years of collaboration and four successful office projects, Spencer Interiors and Grant Thornton have built a partnership rooted in innovation. Grant Thornton’s CEO has continuously pushed the boundaries of corporate design, shaping workspaces that go beyond functionality to inspire and engage. His visionary approach has redefined office culture, creating environments so dynamic and inviting that employees are drawn back, even in an era of remote work.
SMART, FLEXIBLE, AND PEOPLE-CENTRIC DESIGN
Drawing inspiration from Grant Thornton’s One Central Dubai and ADGM Abu Dhabi offices, the design of the Sharjah office brings together the finest elements of both while establishing a unique identity of its own. The concept is rooted in a seamless blend of aesthetics and functionality, featuring a sophisticated color palette, value engineered finishes, and a flexible layout that supports both collaboration and focused work.
At the heart of the design is a focus on agility, with hot desking and open workstations creating a dynamic, free-flowing environment that encourages movement, interaction, and teamwork. This approach eliminates rigid structures, allowing employees to choose how and where they work based on their tasks and preferences. A striking bar-style seating area along the curtain wall further enhances flexibility, offering an informal yet functional workspace where employees can work comfortably while enjoying natural light and panoramic views.
To give the Sharjah office a distinctive character, a cozy two-seater sofa booth was introduced as a signature feature. Designed as a balance between comfort and privacy, it provides a quiet retreat within the vibrant workspace—perfect for focused tasks, informal discussions, or moments of relaxation.
VALUE-ENGINEERED EXCELLENCE
Creating a high-end office experience while maintaining cost efficiency required a strategic and meticulous approach to design. Every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure a sophisticated aesthetic without exceeding budget constraints.
To achieve this, veneer wood finishes and reception flooring were carefully value-engineered to replicate the refined and premium look of the One Central office, ensuring a seamless visual continuity. Wood-finish wallcoverings were selected not only to introduce warmth and texture but also to enhance the overall ambiance, fostering an inviting and professional atmosphere.
High-quality laminate doors were chosen as a cost-effective alternative to solid wood, providing durability and elegance without sacrificing the desired upscale appeal. These carefully curated materials and design choices exemplify how innovation and strategic planning can harmonize luxury with practicality, resulting in a workspace that is both visually impressive and financially sustainable.
A TRANSFORMATIVE WORKSPACE
The feedback to the new office has been overwhelmingly positive, with employees effortlessly settling into their reimagined workspace and embracing its thoughtful design. Grant Thornton’s CEO personally expressed his appreciation, commending the execution and the tangible impact of the new environment. He emphasized the seamless collaboration over the years, reinforcing the trust and synergy that define partnership with Spencer Interiors—and looked ahead with enthusiasm to future projects that will continue to push the boundaries of corporate design.

A reflection of how intelligent design, thoughtful execution, and a visionary approach can transform the way we work. It stands as a benchmark for modern corporate interiors, proving that the right workspace can inspire and elevate an entire organization.
