Transforming Two Units into a Dynamic Coworking Space

When the client approached us, their brief was clear yet ambitious: they needed more than just a fit-out; they wanted a cohesive space that combined two newly constructed units into a dynamic coworking environment. The foundation was set – carpets, ceilings, and lights were already in place – but our task was to breathe life into it. This wasn’t just an office; it was to become a multifunctional coworking space with training rooms, meeting areas, and even an Amphitheatre.


Bringing Identity to Innovation

To align with the client’s coworking vision, we incorporated CBD’s signature branding colors—soothing blues and refreshing light greens—into key design elements. The overarching palette featured warm beige tones, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere, while pastel greens and blues added vibrant, energizing accents throughout the space.
Our creative direction drew heavily from the coworking spaces at the DIFC Innovation Hub, a standout reference for the client. Known for their seamless blend of aesthetics and functionality, these spaces inspired us to create a design that not only reflected modern coworking trends but also infused identifiable CBD branding into the look and feel of the environment.


Strategic Decisions That Shaped the Vision

The furniture layout was meticulously crafted to align with the client’s unique needs, prioritizing optimal user capacity and an abundance of versatile meeting spaces. Every decision was rooted in the guiding principles set forth during initial mood board presentations and design discussions.
One standout feature of this project was the design of the Amphitheatre and training room, where the team worked closely with the client’s AV experts. This collaboration ensured the integration of advanced audiovisual technology without compromising the aesthetic vision. Ceiling and wall-mounted fixtures were strategically incorporated, creating a seamless flow of design elements that added functionality while elevating the overall aesthetic.

At the heart of the design were the suspended acoustic panels, crafted in various dynamic shapes to enhance both form and function. These panels served as a focal point, blending effortlessly with bespoke lighting designs to create a cohesive and visually captivating environment.
The integration of these suspended elements required precision and close coordination among the design and construction teams, ensuring every detail complemented the overall concept. The materials chosen, including high-grade acoustic fabrics and lightweight yet durable structural components, ensured both longevity and elegance.
